  • Matthew D. Anderson - Partner - Wichita Falls

    Matt Anderson graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1995 with a B.S. in Economics and then earned his J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law in 1999. After graduating from law school, he worked as a prosecutor in the trial bureau of The Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he tried over 40 jury trials. Matt joined Gibson Davenport Anderson in 2001 and now practices in the areas of commercial litigation, banking litigation, construction law, employment law, oil and gas litigation, fiduciary litigation, and real estate litigation. Matt is licensed by the Supreme Court of the State of Texas and the following Federal courts: Northern District of Texas, Southern District of Texas, Western District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, Western District of Oklahoma, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

    Matt’s other activities include: Wichita County Bar Association (Director 2004-2009, President 2008-2009); Court Advisory Committee for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas (Member 2011-2017); Episcopal School / Christ Academy (Trustee, 2006-2010); Wichita Falls Area Food Bank (Board Member, 2003-2009); and Straight Street (Director, 2011-2018). Matt also coaches youth soccer and competes in Judo.

  • Anthony Bates - Associate - Wichita Falls

    Anthony Bates Tony Bates graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Government and Politics before earning his J.D. at Southern Methodist University in 2011. Tony then worked for a criminal defense firm in Dallas before moving to Wichita Falls, where he served as Assistant District Attorney for several years.

    Tony joined Sherrill & Gibson in 2020 and practices in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate litigation, fiduciary litigation and construction. Tony is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

    Tony is on the Board of Directors for the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank and is a member of City Hope Church, where he attends with his family.

  • Richard K. Bowersock - Partner - Wichita Falls

    Richard K. Bowersock received a B.A. degree and a M.S. degree from Texas Tech University and a J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and the Wichita County Bar Association, having served as its President in 1995. Mr. Bowersock is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

    Mr. Bowersock’s practice is primarily concentrated in real estate law, financial lending transactions and formation of business entities.

    Mr. Bowersock has served as a member of the Boards of the Midwestern State University Foundation, Inc., Wichita General Hospital Foundation, Big Brothers and Sisters of Wichita County and Wichita Falls Independent School District Partners in Education. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls and currently serves on various boards and committees of the church and its Foundation.

  • Peyton Cannedy - Associate - Wichita Falls
    Peyton Cannedy

    Peyton Cannedy received a B.B.A. in Accounting from Midwestern State University, a M.B.A. from Texas Tech University, and a J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law. He joined Sherrill & Gibson, PLLC as an associate attorney in 2019, and his practice focuses on banking, business and corporate matters, estate planning and estate administration, and real estate.

    Peyton is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association and the Wichita County Bar Association.

    Peyton was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. He is a graduate of Holliday High School. He is an active member of Grace Church. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Malea, and family, cheering on Midwestern State, and playing with his dog.

  • R. Caven Crosnoe - Partner - Wichita Falls

    R. Caven Crosnoe received a B.S. degree from Oklahoma State University and a L.L.B. degree from The University of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and its Securities Law Committee and the Wichita County Bar Association. He is also a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

    Mr. Crosnoe's practice is primarily focused on business and oil and gas law. His business law practice includes the representation of buyers and sellers of businesses, the formation of all types of business entities and the preparation and review of financing transactions for such entities. His oil and gas practice includes the acquisition and sale of oil and gas properties, preparation of contracts and lease negotiations.

    Mr. Crosnoe served on the Board of Regents at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas from 2014 – 2021 and was Chairman of the Board from 2019-2021. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Fidelity Bank and currently serves as an advisory director of FirstCapital Bank. Mr. Crosnoe is a former Trustee of the Hardin Foundation for Wichita County. and past Chairman and Board member of both Midwestern State University Foundation, Inc. and the Wichita Falls Metropolitan YMCA.

    Todd Davenport graduated summa cum laude from Texas Tech University in 1998 with a B.B.A in Finance as the highest ranking graduate in the College of Business Administration. He received his J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 2001. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Wichita County Bar Association. His practice focuses on banking, real estate, general business and corporate law matters, including the formation of business entities; private offerings of debt and equity securities, asset acquisitions and asset sales; equity acquisitions and equity sales, corporate governance and control arrangements, secured and unsecured lending, bank regulatory and operational matters, and general real estate law.

    Mr. Davenport’s experience includes the preparation of asset purchase agreements and related documents, the preparation of securities purchase agreements and related documents, the preparation of documents related to the formation and operation of various types of business entities, and the preparation of documents related to various types of lending arrangements.

    Mr. Davenport serves on the Board of Directors of American National Bank & Trust and has served on various nonprofit organizations, including Hospice of Wichita Falls and the United Regional Foundation.

    Robert W. Goff, Jr. practices in the areas of estate and wealth preservation planning, transfer tax planning, charitable gift planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning and business entities (primarily as they are used in and related to federal estate tax planning).

    Mr. Goff received his B.B.A. degree from Texas Tech University and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Goff is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a past president of the Wichita County Bar Association, a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.

    Mr. Goff has been a frequent speaker and author on estate planning, probate and tax law matters, including presentations at the Advanced Estate Planning & Probate Course, the Advanced Drafting Course and the Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Course, all of which were sponsored by the State Bar of Texas. An article pertaining to taxation of lottery prizes that was co-authored by Mr. Goff in 2006 was published in Trust and Estates magazine.

    Eliot Hilbers Hardee received her B.A. summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and her J.D. summa cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas. While in law school, Eliot was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as a Dean’s Ambassador.

    Mr. Hines’ practice is primarily focused on commercial real estate, commercial lending and business law transactions. His commercial lending practice includes the representation of both lenders and borrowers. His commercial real estate and business law practices include the representation of buyers and sellers of assets and businesses, the formation of business entities and the preparation and review of leases and contracts.

    Mr. Hines currently serves on the Board of Directors of First National Bank, Wichita Falls and on the Board of Trustees of the James N. McCoy Foundation. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of United Regional Health Care System and the Board of Trustees of the Midwestern State University Foundation, Inc., and he served on the Young Life Committee for Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Wichita Falls Independent School District for 17 years, having served as its President from 2002-2006.

  • Michelle L. Wurster - Associate - Wichita Falls

    Michelle L. Wurster received her B.A. degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, and her J.D. degree from Baylor University School of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and the Wichita County Bar Association (of which she is a past director). While at Baylor Law School, she served as Editor in Chief of the Baylor Law Review, was a member of the National Moot Court Team and was a member of the Order of the Barristers.

    Ms. Wurster practices in the areas of estate and wealth preservation planning, and trust and estate administration.

    Ms. Wurster has served on the board of directors for CASA, the Brook Village Elementary School PTA, the Ben Franklin Elementary School PTA and Nonprofit Center in Wichita Falls. She is a past President of the North Texas Estate and Financial Planning Council.
